Every school here has both the U.S. flag and our state flag displayed.

To fair Guidelines for proper care of the US flag say not to be worn as garments.

My school does. (have an American flag outside the school. I also have one in my classroom, though I am in the minority having one)

Yes, students need to be told that pajamas are not appropriate school attire... In fact they usually need to be told more than once (and even though it is in the student handbook that both parents and students receive and must sign, parents must also be told to either bring a change of clothes or pick up their kid...and they argue)
