Poltergeist Movie (2015) and the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann... WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO TELL US ???
The other night while watching the 2015 re-make of the original 1982 Poltergeist, I was struck by the strange coincidences and coded messages seemingly contained within that film which could very easily be alluding to the mysterious disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

I tried searching online for anyone else who may have noticed these (apparent) similarities, but I got nothing. Unless you start the movie with Madeleine McCann in mind, you'd easily miss all of these strange clues contained within...

LITTLE GIRL'S NAME IS REPLACED FROM "CAROL ANN" TO "MADISON..."
At first I thought it was just coincidence that the little 6-year-old in the movie is called 'Madison.' But after a little of bit of digging I found out something odd - the girl's name in the original 1982 Poltergeist is actually completely different - she's called 'Carol Ann.' So, this apparent random choice of name-change for a character is actually quite strange, especially when you consider she constantly keeps getting referred to as "Maddie" throughout the new movie.

MADDIE HAS A FAVOURITE PINK CUDDLY TOY SHE NEVER LETS GO OF...
In the movie, 6-year-old Maddie has lots of different toys, but she's particularly attached to this one little pink cuddly teddy. For some reason the script goes out of its way to highlight just how attached she is to it. At one point, the lead paranormal investigator - Ms Brooke Powell - picks up the toy and Maddie's dad immediately stops her "Do you mind if we hold on to that... just, till she gets back? I don't want it getting lost in the shuffle..." The closing scene shows the camera slowly panning to the back of the family's car, with a smiling Maddie finally reunited with her pink cuddly toy

No need to remind you that Madeleine McCann had her own famous pink cuddly toy - "Cuddle Cat." During the initial few months of publicity this cuddle cat became a key feature, with Kate McCann carrying it with her everywhere, partly as a reminder of Maddie and partly as a comfort to herself. We subsequently learnt that there was also some controversy surrounding this cuddle cat, Kate McCann having washed it a mere 5 days after Maddie's disappearance.

"ITS MY FAULT SHE'S GONE... I SHOULD NEVER HAVE LEFT HER ALONE..."
With a storm coming, Maddie's older brother - Griffin - runs towards her room after experiencing paranormal activity of his own. But he's only 9 or 10 himself, so naturally, scared out of his wits. Just as he's about to walk into Maddie's room, he sees her frightened and cowering in the corner. She screams "help me! help me!" but Griffin is too scared to enter the room and get her out. He runs away, telling little Maddie "I can't help you, I gotta go... Just stay away from the wardrobe..."

Later on, when visiting a paranormal investigator with his mom, Griffin tells her... "It was all my fault... If I hadn't left her alone, this wouldn't have happened..."

Similarly, many people still blame Madeleine MccCann's parents for leaving her alone in the apartment while they went for an evening meal with friends. Even the McCanns themselves have expressed this regret. "If we hadn't left her alone, maybe none of this would've ever happened..."

THE LAST PLACE MADDIE IS SEEN IS IN HER BEDROOM...
Tying into what I've said, the last place where Maddie was seen in the movie, was in her bedroom. She follows a group of glowing orbs into a white wardrobe, then disappears. Likewise, the last place Madeleine McCann was seen was in the bedroom. After that, no-one has any clue as to where she went...

"...SHE'S TOO CLOSE TO THE LIGHT"
References to 'Light' are made constantly throughout the 2015 movie. After paranormal investigators fail to find Maddie, they hire a popular TV psychic - Carrigan Burke. While discussing the disappearance, he explains that evil spirits want Maddie "...to be their lantern in the darkness, to lead them into the Light." Later, when the team struggle to get Maddie back, Carrigan Burke tells them "She's too close to the Light...!"

'She's too close to the Light' and all these other references to 'light' sound very, very creepy once you realise that 'Praia da Luz,' the village where Madeleine McCann went missing, actually translates (from Portuguse to English) as "Beach of the Light." Lol, what the actual fuck...!!!

CARRIGAN BURKE GOT HIS LEG BURNT "IN PORTUGAL..."
When the celebrity TV psychic initially arrives, the kids and the family are sceptical. Is he just a showman or can he really get their daughter back? The kids - Griffin and older sister Kendra - can't stop gawking at the psychic's hideously burnt leg and he gets annoyed. "Let's get this over with, shall we..." He then tells them that his leg got badly burnt during a difficult exorcism in a monastery in Portugal, whilst trying to get rid of an especially stubborn demon...!

Wait... so of all the places in America, no, no, hold on... of all the places IN THE WORLD that could've been chosen, why the insistence on going out their way to make a reference to Portugal? I'd been watching the movie for around an hour at this point, its like the fuckers had been dropping little hints all along the way, and then 'boom!' Portugal! I couldn't believe what I was hearing...!!!

THE UNNECCESSARY MADDIE BATH SCENE...
After the psychic gets Maddie back from 'the darkness,' they find her unconscious and not responding to any stimuli. They ask Carrigan Burke what to do next, so he says "Take her to the water...." The camera then cuts to a bathroom scene with Maddie deep in bath water while still unconscious.

The bathroom scene in the movie is particularly odd as Madison is nowhere near any water when she returns from the 'other side.' So why include a scene where she has to be body deep in water? Why the insistence to include a water scene in any way possible, even when the script doesn't require it?

But then, you need water, don't you! The place where Madeleine McCann went missing is a seaside town, water and the sea is everywhere, and just a stones throw away from the apartment where she went missing...

So, to conclude, I don't know the purpose of the constantly references to Madeleine McCann. Are they trying to tell us something? Maybe some people in Hollywood are hinting that they know what happened? Or maybe they just want her disappearance to stay alive in our subconscious? Or I dunno, they wanna trigger us or something?

I honestly don't get it, but I'd love to hear your thoughts, and any other clues you've spotted that I might have missed!

Thanks for reading!

I'm 90% convinced the references to Maddie are not mere coincidence

but I wont make up shit and pretend to know why these little hints have placed at different points in the movie

is someone trying to tell us something?

or maybe its just a way to keep the maddie story alive?

I don't know
