Not in the Midwest around KC. I've been servicing their cameras for a couple years now and have always found it mind boggling that they all still have analog shit. Even more surprising they keep paying us shit tonnes more money to replace and bandaid old crap when it would've already been cheaper to update the entire systems at each of the 30 stores to hi-res IP that would/could have analytics.

This guy is full of shit. You have to pay 10's of thousands in their case millions a year, every year to use the analytic plug ins. Kind of defeats the purpose of replacing a minimum wage worker.

They are a media rich retail chain, not much goes on in any of their stores that isn't accounted for.

Probably just regular cameras, so they can identify shoplifters. People use self-checkouts to steal all the time.

It would be a waste of money for them to spy on their employees lol. Besides, they already have regular ceiling cameras to do that.

Plus the cameras act as a cheap visual deterrent. They want people to see them and decide to not shoplift.

This would make sense to verify the user of credit cards.

If you want to look up the specs on wallys stuff, the PTZs (the big domes) are made by American Dynamic, the same housing base and camera they produced in '04. All the little bullets are a pos brand called ganz, in all of its 480 line resolution glory.
