Orlando nightclub shooter intended to attack Disney, prosecutors say

Jurors have started to deliberate in the trial of a woman accused of helping her husband plan a deadly nightclub attack.


Noor Salman is charged with obstruction and providing material support to a terrorist organization.

The 31-year-old mother is accused of helping her husband, Omar Mateen, plan his attack on the Pulse Nightclub in June of 2016. She is also charged with obstruction.

Last week, surveillance video was released showing Mateen and his family visiting Disney and various spots around Orlando.

On one of the first videos from Disney Springs security footage, Mateen can be seen purchasing a toy for his child. Later on, in the same visit, records show he also accessed a website about ISIS calling for attacks on the US, over the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The family returned to Disney on June 8th, this time showing Mateen walking around alone outside while his family shopped in a store. Prosecutors allege he was scouting out the location for a possible attack.

On the night of the attack, Mateen returned again, this time alone with a newly purchased stroller and a plastic doll, which investigators believe he was planning to use to sneak a gun into Disney Springs. Video of his arrival shows a large presence of Sheriff’s deputies which prosecutors say caused Mateen to rethink his plan.

Has anyone here been through security at disney? I was questioned about a stroller because my child was preschool age. I just dont see that guy ever getting through security but at disney springs they dont check your bags so be careful there

I don’t think anyone claimed him to be very smart, lol.

That’s why he made practice runs.

Disney springs is not inside any of the parks it is a shopping and dinning location. Used to be downtown Disney. No gates and less security.

Disney springs is also the drop-off point for the non resort partner hotels. Very crowded after the fireworks shows.

Disney has upped their security since. They were also going to move their security checkpoint I believe, but I don't remember if it was in CA or FL, I think CA. I've also heard that they have staff in the park dressed like regular park goers, not sure if this is true, but I wouldn't be surprised.

The Orlando shooter is often conveniently "left out" of rhetoric surrounding mass shootings because he was GAY and his father was a Clinton supporter.

Took my son to Six Flags a couple weeks ago....waited about 30 minutes to go halfway through the line for the Texas Giant rollercoaster.....halfway through the line there was a group/family of middle-easterners just 'hanging out', letting everyone pass them by while they just stood there underneath the loading platform......we passed and went out the nearest exit.

If this woman is convicted, it will be just one more injustice in .govs crimes.

Always having to worry about what may happen if we take our families to places and events.



One was a woman in a burka and her son, she was demanding to get on the plane but they didn’t have tickets. We were all standing there trying to board, all of us looking at each other wondering should we get on the plane.

The GOVERNMENT aided and abedded the Pulse shooting if it even happened. There is a man in jail in Los Angeles for nearly 2 years that claimed he trained with Mateen for these "events".
