So, if China increases their import tariffs to 20%, American tariffs automatically respond in kind, in a predictable manner. The reality is, China is acting like a bully, because they are no longer allowed to cheat the system(akin to the Chinese students who protested because they where no longer allowed to cheat during exams). |

It was determined longg ago after a couple world wars, that trade was preferable to war. Countries that trade together, usually don't war against one another. US "trade" is messing up so much- between that and "immigration" there is not near the quality of life there once was. |

The additional fares, which range from 15 to 25 percent, will take effect on Monday, the Chinese Finance Ministry said on their website. Continued... China cutting off their nose to spite their face, is a BAD idea. They need our imports and technology. How else can they reverse engineer it and resell it cheaper to the rest of the world? |

It was determined longg ago after a couple world wars, that trade was preferable to war. Countries that trade together, usually don't war against one another. Clinton basically gave them technology to successfully bomb the US. US business there has made the leaders rich. Now, they are much more of a threat than they were in the 1950s-1970s. At that point they were pretty much just sitting there- except when we were involved with Korea and Vietnam- which we shouldn't have been. |

They could never have been anything without our technology. They would have still been selling little silly trinkets. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76420245 Why is the surplus nation putting tariffs on tariffs?? The biggest companies in the world are overwhelmingly american. Trade deficits are bullocks. They only cover what gets shipped from harbour to harbour. They don't cover software, like Microsoft or internet like Facebook, Google. |

First of all, China doesn't allow that software, and the stuff they DO allow, like Microsoft products are all completely pirated. It's "bollocks", btw. |
