Well, many Millennials (my generation) are political in the wrong way- they are indoctrinated in schools- and not just universities anymore- but from pre-k on up, without intelligent or wise intervention from their homes. It took about 50 year to gradually get to this point- why did no one see it or stop it? I think maybe genXers were more apathetic about politics- not as heavy of an indoctrination from the lower grades on up, pre-9-11, no massive wars/drafts to protest, still had the fumes of a decent economy left to work with- just kind of sat there along with other adult generations as our industries were outsourced and immigration increased.

^^^Then blames my generation for being irresponsible and idiots.

Maybe it was growing up in rural Kansas, but I never saw any political indoctrination going on in my schools (graduated 1988). I was taught to think for myself and had books like Fahrenheit 451, Animal Farm, and 1984 assigned as required reading.

I was born in 1992 and it wasn't bad in elementary school for me- but by middle school it got bad, and continued through high school- not to mention university. All of these were in the same medium sized city in Texas. It's even worse now, and worse for younger kids. My parents intervened a lot (some of the few who did) and taught us well at home.

Some on the facebook take longer. They come around, that's the point.

What she says about Latchkey kids is 110 percent correct.

We can boil this down to:

Latchkey vs Helicopter kids
Self Sufficient vs Dependent
Learning through experience vs Overprotection

It is a generational thing with anomalies on both sides, add to it the intense indoctrination that ramped up in the 90s.

Gen Z will be the breaking point. Mills are getting older now, approaching 40.
