When you turn 67, your SS payments will reflect your salary and the number of years that you worked. Medicare of at least $187 per month will be subtracted from that. When you are 67, it will be more difficult to find work even if you are able to work. You need to develope some sort of skill while you are young. It will benefit you in your later years.

You won't get much in disability if you never worked. Sorry to say, you will have a life of limitation and poverty. You can still pull yourself up by the bootstraps, stop being a whiny victim and go to school. Make something of yourself and your life. It's your choice. Totally agree with Crypto's comment. You'll only get around a $800 a month if you include food stamps. You'll never get to travel or do nice things for yourself or others. You'll just kind of hover around in a gray area.

I haven't been working since 2014. I applied several times and just now have a lawyer helping me.

I have two college degrees and several certifications. I worked hard all my life until I fractured my spine and have something called grade 2 spondylolisthesis. Neurosurgeon said rods and screws fusion is the only way to fix my back.

I don't look disabled and I can still walk, but let me tell you I spend all day in bed because of the pain. I'm on painkillers and there is a big uproar over opioids. I still have hope and faith that God will have mercy and allow me to function.

And then you will have to live with the facts that you have a deceitful personality , that you lack moral fibre , self respect and any chance of personal fulfilment .

I get more than twice that and I only get by thanks to a paid for motorhome and a friends property I can park on with hook ups. I make too much for food stamps or any assistance. Now that I'm two year in, SSA is about to start taking out a huge chunk to pay my medicare. When first on ssdi, you get no health benefits for 2 years. If you can't work due to your health, how the fuck do you get health insurance. It's a crime.
