Heads up my fellow Texans....models showing possible 10+" rain next week!
From the NWS office in Ft Worth...

"...rainfall amounts are contingent on whether a tropical system will develop in the eastern Pacific Ocean and gets drawn northward by the upper trough into Mexico. Should this occur it would provide strong upper level dynamics for lift and result in a swath of widespread heavy rainfall across Texas. We`ve seen both the operational GFS and ECMWF flirt with this scenario on occasional runs and we know from climatology that this is a pattern setup that has produced many instances of 10+ inches of rain."

This is looking ahead to next Wednesday, October 24.

We also have potential for a low to form off of the central coast keeping the mid to upper coastal areas very wet.

Got a dingy? LOL

The tropical system referenced has not yet formed, but the National Hurricane Center gives it a 70-80% chance.

"* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...70 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent."

Just in time for the elections in a state that they have heavily targeted for the "blue wave". Beto is losing by a fairly wide margin, so flooding in the rural areas of West and West Central Teas would definitely decrease the turnout in those areas....heavily Republican.

After an exceptionally dry Spring and Summer here in Waco, we've had over 15" in the past 3 weeks. Been a crazy weather year here.

I store up empty 1/2 gallon jugs for water storage all of hurricane season, and tossed about half of them last week. But, spidey sense said keep the rest just in case. Harvey flooded us, surrounded by 4 feet of water for a week and half. The only prep we lacked was a dingy. The downstairs units are still in renovation stage.

He sounds like a foreigner in this state. I silence his commercials. Got behind a car with a Beto sticker on the back. I used my hand to block the view of it. Didn't want to gag. LOL

In my area, there are Beto signs everywhere. I guess being only 100 miles north of Asutin, we get some of the liberal bleed-over. Gross.

I saw someone in Austin claim 16" on their home gauge since September, I think. And said it was the same amount as the period from January all the way to August.

To everyone who prayed for rain after our excessive drought...please pray for me to win the Mega Millions lotto tomorrow. Your rain prayers worked too well, so maybe your lotto prayers will too. Thanks!
