Don't know about the gun laws in your state, but I'd get something big and automatic rather than a shotgun. 5.56mm FNC seems nice ... Ample clips pre-loaded in a rucksack. Maybe something that goes boom when you shoot it put at strategic places, like tannerite mixed with lead balls or pellets.
