I don't want to be the killjoy in this thread, but I think the two of them were reacting in mainly an in-laws-embarrassing-each-other manner. Or sort of like someone telling a person his fly is open.

I still remember when Sean Hannity and his two regular investigative reporters several weeks ago said big news was about to drop, and then nothing happened.

That at least was clear-cut and not a case of reading lips or guessing what's going on in people based on their smiles or frowns.
