Talks have been going on for a number of months about his new party but have been stepped in the past fortnight as the full detail of Theresa May's Brexit deal has emerged. Mr Farage, 54, said he had held talks with a number of high profile business people to stand for his new party. Its new name was "to be confirmed", he said. Mr Farage, who quit as a member of Ukip last week sparking a number of other resignations by senior figures, said: "I sense within me I have not fought my biggest battle yet - that is how it feels. Whether it is happenstance, serendipity, destiny. I am not going to lie down and watch it go down the plug hole. I couldn't do that. And I won't do that." Mr Farage said his candidates would be "the most extraordinary slate of people you guys have ever seen. I am working on the concepts right now. It won't be a one off shot, it will be the birth of something much more remarkable than Ukip was." Mr Farage said he could not stand for Ukip because of the party's swing to the right to become an anti-Muslim party under its leader Gerard Batten who is holding a rally on Sunday with the former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson in central London. Mr Farage said he had not planned a return to politics. He said: "My game plan had been to see Brexit through, move to America for four or five years. I get on well over there, Trump is going to get re-elected so Washington DC is a good place. "But I have always said that if the ball gets dropped on Brexit I will have no choice but to pick it up. Obviously that would open the way for a General Election, but would it work in favour of Farage's new party, or would it just make it easier for a Corbyn government to attain power? People are just generally frustrated that Brexit hasn't been delivered yet. Ever since the referendum win two years ago Farage has on many occasions offered his help to government for the Brexit process/negotiations, but they are staunch remainers and refuse to have him involved, so Farage has been a fierce critic of the government over the many months during the Brexit negotiations whenever he's felt the Brexit movement has been betrayed. Of course he does, however the immigration issue is not just a Muslim problem, it's a 3rd world problem. Bottom line is you need to pick your fights and getting out of the EU is the right tactical move, curbing immigration can and will follow. UKIP is tainted now, anyone who cannot see that is blinded. We need something new, he left is creating new partitions every day, we need to learn from their tactics, overwhelm the system with new facets that opposs the EU, globalism and liberal progressiveness. It's the only way to fight this new war. |
