Weird BOOMs north of Raleigh, NC...any ideas, folks? | |

It isn't DOT dynamiting since they're still taking down trees and mulching in piles on side of hwy. [link to www.wral.com (secure)] As far as I know, no military fly-bys. Only thing I can think of is one of my crazy redneck neighbors is trying to dig a doom bunker. The area sits on a massive granite slab. And if it's a UFO, then hell....I missed my ride home, dammit. Any thoughts from you guys? Should I go rescue 'mator plants?  And thought struggles against the results, trying to avoid those unpleasant results while keeping on with that way of thinking. Hell, I was in the Triad area and knew it was a quake. Supposedly a bunker was taken out as per some tin foil mad hatters. But this is happening early morning and then later in the evening. I'll have to talk to some of the old cusses living near me to see what they think's up. If it's military, then it's gotta' be the fly guys-n-gals from Goldsboro but they hardly ever come that far west of the base. And thought struggles against the results, trying to avoid those unpleasant results while keeping on with that way of thinking. Its the magma layer between the crust and mantle loosening and changing state from plastic to viscous. why the noise if its so far underground you ask? because liquid occupies less volume then solid, which leaves a huge void underground. Due to pressure, it must be filled by air or water. that BOOM you hear is the whip crack sound of air (on land) or water (below lakes rivers)rushing underground to fill that void. Carry on. |
