it is the naked will. it's acknowleding your bad-self, even commending it as Holy. the point is to validate your will to live, to go to war, to plunder, to have sex, etc. because that is obviously how God made creatures, that was their design and purpose.

if your will is inhibited, you have little chance of survival, for the very purpose of life has been damaged.

a schizophrenic monster is just someone who cannot understand anything opposing their will, who goes crazy over anything opposing their beast-will. when in fact, the universe, everything ELSE other than YOU, does in fact, oppose it
