They were still in bars in the 80's and 90's not that long ago

I have been gone too long too.

I remember seeing them as a tyke. You had to pull a lever and when money was loaded it locked on and released a pack. Then it smelled like cigarettes.

Aside from the fuku rads, you have nothing better here than there. No loss.

you can buy cigarettes for $1 a pack wholesale, if you buy 100 cartons. makes you wonder, what exactly is the production cost? 50 cents a pack?

bureau of alcohol, tobacco, and firearms. cuz they know if you're down with forcing people to pay 20 times cost for pack of cigarettes, you're probably down for most everything else

The whiskey vending machines are almost gone from Japan.

If you were tall enough to put the yen in the slot you could get beer, cigarettes, whiskey, etc.

Last trip there, I saw very few alcohol machines, they must have a 24 hour seven eleven on every corner.

Yes...back in the early 70's you put a quarter in the machine and got a pack. 25 cents. Amazing.

I loved those! I was kinda sad when they went to "push the button", the spring lever was just so cool to pull and releasing and hearing the pack drop to the bottom!

In the mid seventies I remember a pack of cigarettes was .35 cents and so was a gallon of gasoline. And nobody carded you for cigarettes even if you were 12,13,14 years old.

I used to hide my pack in the neighbors mailbox before I got home so my mom couldn't find them..

OMG -Yyyyup, almost as old as dirt here. I def. remember and used them.

In every bar, downstairs of hospitals, pool halls, just about everywhere really.

As much as I hate cigarette smoke and don't miss it in restaurants and airplane flights, I do miss it in general.

Yes I do and smoking in airplanes with little ashtray in the chairs arm.

Me and my friends used to stuff paper up the bottom opening.
Later, we remove the paper & find several packs of cigarettes.

I can remember when the Sonic on 44th in OKC would bring 2% Coors to your car. How fkn old is that? Milk wars in OKC, 19cents/gal or 19cents, your choice 1/2 or 1 gal. Hamburgers 10 for $1 on 29th, gasoline 19cents/gal, qt of oil was in glass jar with metal spout on top.
Cigarettes were damn cheap without the tax. Marlboro flip top box was 13cents in Pi at commisary. 1967-68

Remember the (1970's) soda machines where you can reach in & pull the cans out by hand?

can we bring that back...anything but what is coming.
