Low inflation rates were caused by the fact that the last time things got out of control the way they are now we turned off immigration...then we increased the tax rate on the billionaire and UPPER milionaire class while the government worked with them to redistribute earnings into their workers which began the creation of the middle class which was never before seen and what everyone so fondly refers too. Less money for the wealthy to buy causes price deflation not inflation. More money for consumers to buy causes lower prices through competition. Also the New Deal later was part of this. If you were a student of history you would understand at this point we were near total societal revolution...Battle of Blair Mountain was the peak where the government had realized it had lost control of economic balance. This was 1921....the immigration act of 1924 followed that. However that was not enough to stop the coming depression as we had to reap what we sowed so to speak...so after total out of control crony capitalism we got outright Socialism with the New Deal...over time tweaked down and brought us back to a level of equilibrium that created the middle class which lasted until the beginning of the end of it with Reagan (after he got shot and Pappa Bush took over)

We went berzerko on the capitalism and spending and then began the great idea of bringing in illegals and giving them amnesty like Reagan/Bush did...which we have been doing and continue to do to this day

You have to remember economic decisions, especially back then without computing, don't just take hold right away. It takes YEARS and YEARS to see the fruits of them (good or bad)

It is different now because we have massive amounts of computing, data analysis with computers and processing etc....that's why no one gives a fuck about the debt. They've widdled out a way to sustain this with immigrants AND printing money for now....
