Every "non-conformist" group is a joke, an excuse for liberal, nihilist conformity.

Beatniks, Hippies, Hipsters -- they're all lame and the same.

Do you even know what anarchy is? It doesn't sound like it. It's the opposite of "Nanny state" It's what every real man wants, self rule and autonomy. I guess it all boils down to whether you have the courage to actually be what you say you want to be. as for hippies and beatniks, they're all fucking communists at heart who thirst for big government

Re: PAUL JOSEPH WATSON: The Truth About Hipsters
What is the true definition of anarchy?
Mark Passio reveals the true definition and Latin origin of the infamous term 'Anarchy'. Anarchy comes from the Greek prefix an-(av-): "without; the absence of" and the Greek noun archon: "master; ruler". Anarchy does NOT mean "without rules." It literally means "without rulers; without masters.May 28, 2015

anarchy, like communism, is a system that will never work on a large scale. The strong or unscrupulous will always try to subjugate the weak.

Sounds great on paper. Would never actually work as intended.

I do, and most of today's "anarchists" are not anarchists in the traditional sense of the word at all. That's why I put "anarchists" in scare quotes. The modern incarnation, and what has been around pretty much my entire adult life, are anarcho-communists, which is really just a hip way to say actual communists. They don't want a land free of government any more than Joseph Stalin or Mao Tse Tung did and wouldn't survive a week if such a place existed because they're a bunch of pinko commie fags and would be eaten by the first roving gang of highwaymen they came across.

Personally, I have described myself as a libertarian since I was about 13 years old, which is more of a minarchist. Sure, I'd love to live in a world with no government, but in the real world, everybody else has governments and those governments, given the chance to seize territory governed by no one, will do so, and then you're right back to living under somebody else's rules. Ask the Kingdom of Minerva. Oh, right. You can't, because as soon as the founders of Minerva finished building their country, the King of Tonga invaded and conquered it.

Pffft. It would be the law of the jungle. People will always find things to fight about even if they're throwing sticks and stones at each other from 20 feet away, and if there's no police around, for instance, what's to stop me from just summarily executing that pit bull next door that used to harass me on my way to my car every morning? And then what's to stop my next door neighbor from burning my house down in retaliation? And then, what's to stop me from organizing an army and killing his whole family? And then, what's to stop his remaining relatives from organizing a counter army to fight my army?

All this crap you're writing is just theoretical anyway. No such state has ever existed in this world, and as long as one person wants to exert control over another one, which will be until the end of time, there will be conflict.

When I was idealistic and stupid in my youthful arrogance, I voted for Harry Browne for President in the first two elections for which I was eligible to vote. Know what it got me? Anarchists, because of their belief system, won't even include themselves on the ballot and so will never impose a lack of government on anyone.

Sorry, PJW always comes off as hypocritical and hateful to me because he seems so twinky. I don't disagree with him, just his face.

He also seems too hateful and that kinda stuff usually stems from your own insecurity or envy. Sorry you couldn't fit in with the cool kids! That is just the vibe I get from him.

So the police protect us and prevent crimes

Interesting concept.

I thought they were the goons that keep the corrupted government in control of us. anarchy is what exists in nature, and it works very well. If you killed your neighbors dog maybe you need killing yourself. Things will calm down pretty quickly when the assholes all kill themselves off
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77518032

Anarchy is, indeed, what exists in nature, and with no one to stand in their way, the strong eat the weak. Guaranteed, if you were to reset the world to anarchy, within a matter of weeks, the lions would be ordering the gazelles around again.

Yes, the existence of police (and the criminal justice system) deters crimes. It's not perfect, but there would be a hell of a lot more crime taking place if it didn't exist at all.

And the assholes won't all just kill each other off. They will establish fiefdoms and exert authority. That's what they do now. Why would they stop just because some kid declares anarchy?

Also, on a more personal note, I never killed the neighbor's dog, but why am I the asshole for having a problem with a dangerous dog, off its chain, harassing me every morning on my way to work? Is not the owner of said dog the actual asshole, or are you an anarchist AND a guy who thinks pitbulls can do no wrong?

idealism is a helluva drug.
 Quoting: nimmerfall

When I was idealistic and stupid in my youthful arrogance, I voted for Harry Browne for President in the first two elections for which I was eligible to vote. Know what it got me? I was one of 250 Alabamians to vote for a loser twice, and Browne, for all his faults and loser-hood, at least stood a chance, technically, because he was actually on the ballot. Anarchists, because of their belief system, won't even include themselves on the ballot and so will never impose a lack of government on anyone.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77518032

Yeah, I'm familiar. Hobbes is a proto-libertarian hero. His "state of nature" is "war of all against all," which is precisely what an anarchistic system would give us.

^ thank you.

I am and have been a minarchist for as long as I can remember and statists are the ones who always mislabel anarchy and it's done on purpose to scare the population into always accepting the nanny state.
