So go and find a place to rent and live for awhile. Give it a year and then decide on a big move. Everyone should live in Hawaii at least once in their life.

Rents are high in Maui.

1000 for a room.

300 a night in a hotel.

I was planning to camp.

op...i did exactly what u r thinking of inlate 06

do not do it

the advice given here already is true

racism and lawlessness are everywhere

i gota federal job and was still homeless

5k just to get an apt..and they will steal your deposit
u will never b home because u will b at work paying for the apt that u rnever at..catch 22

costs r high

u will get jumped
u will not be welcomed by anyone..
camping is rare and unsafe...u will b robbed..and zero recourse..it is not the u.s.
it is an indian reservation

u r not safe at the beach

u will not win over any friends

u will not mix in with the tourists..they havetheir own plans already

it seems lime ano brainer..but it is not

unless u r packed with money...and,that wont bring u any less trouble

they rape for fun there
fight and drink
no fair fights..
no respect
just disdain in general

i worked at the jobcore in mukawao..above paia on maui

pure and simple...bad things go on there not put in any tourist brochures

look into it..and uwill see...
