currently the planet is in an ice age. that is why there are glaciers and polar ice sheets.

what often happens in an ice age is a thing called 'glacial advance'. that means that glaciers get a lot bigger and cover a much larger area. so for example most of north america and europe could get covered by glaciers a mile thick.

nobody knows why ice ages start or end. so the current ice age could end at any time, nobody knows. or the current ice age could get colder and giant glaciers cover most of the land, killing off pretty much all of the people.

in four billion years of earth history, about one billion years was ice ages and three billion years was not ice age. that is why there are large amounts of coal and oil in antarctica.

obviously since nobody knows why ice ages start or end, that means that nobody knows how to stop the current ice age from ending. people telling you they know are trying to trick you.

also the earth's climate has never stabilized at the current level of glacial retreat during an ice age. never. therefore it is naive and wrong to assume that the current climate is stable, or even can be stabilized at current levels. people telling you that the current climate can be stabilized are making it up and most likely trying to trick you.

don't get tricked. study the science of ice ages and how many times they start and end.

Well when I was going to school in the 80's we were told that ALL of the fossil fuels would be used up by the 2000's.

I guess those environmental assholes got that wrong also.

assume that fossil fuels are bodies of dead plants and animals. according to evolution theory, land life came from the oceans. and 3/4 of the planet is covered by ocean.

therefore it is reasonable to assume that over 3/4 of the fossil fuels would be under the oceans!! most of it we got no chance of mining or pumping it out.

so the chances of it running out due to mining and pumping are pretty much zero.
