In the flames, one spire collapsed (timberrr).... the same one that held the Crown of Thorns relic... which was saved.

They were afraid the 13(?) tonne bell would fall and bring the whole structure down.
It didn't.

Official narrative is it was an accident.
But there are incriminating clues that it was planned.

1. TIME columnist Christopher J. Hale @chrisjollyhale tweeted, “A Jesuit friend in Paris who works in #NotreDame told me cathedral staff said the fire was intentionally set.” and then he deleted the tweet after a few minutes.
