The police weren't growing it, people who wanted to feel less pain were. These guys developed corn, grew poppies, mandragora used wild lettuce sap... and with great danger to themselves and others up to thirty two feet away learned to distil a wide variety of substances...yet you are saying our ancestors were too bloody stupid to grow good weed? Those guys huffed natural gas vents. |

I started medical cannabis and it has been life changing. Full spectrum cbd is the future of medicine, just as it was in the past. From 1850 to 1930 cannabis was the number one ingredient in medications that treated over one-hundred different diseases. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 75993659 Canada 04/20/2019 10:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As it turns out, and as some of you may already know. Cannabis has been cultivated since damn near the beginning of time, and is certainly one of the oldest materials used since ancient times. Perhaps even antediluvian, in fact, it has to be. That is another story for another time, but here is a cool documentary on some of the uses of Cannabis that goes as far back as history records. Maybe even further? The word cannabis comes from ancient Babylon. 'Canna' meaning stalk, and 'Bis,' meaning two. Of two stalks, since the plant is either male, or female. The Chinese used Hemp paper extensively, far before the west ever discovered paper, and was later introduced into Europe in the 8th century. But this is just scratching the surface. There are more than likely some uses of the plant we Quoting: Zoink have yet to discover, but it has been used medically since the year 2800b.c. [link to youtu.be (secure)] The human body has cannabinoid receptors. You only develop receptors for compounds if your ancestors have been exposing themselves to those compounds regularly for hundred of thousands of years. Possibly even millions of years. |

No one really needs THC that is higher than 10% (unless you have a serious medical condition like epilepsy or MS). Most people should not exceed 1% to 4% THC levels. Its simply too much for them. |

Let nature take its course. We wouldn’t have fentanyl deaths if they still sold laudanum at the corner store. In other words, you don't know what you are talking about. Thanks for clearing that up. It got its name from how dark it made women’s eyes when their pupils’ dilate. Of course not all plants are safe to ingest. Thankfully, our ancestors figured a lot of that out for us. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77329618 The potency has not gone up, the availability has. Potency has certainly gone up... Here are the photos (budshots) of the 'Top Marijuana Strains of 1977', per High Times Magazine: 1) [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] 2) [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] Compare to photos of the best quality cultivated cannabis available today and the difference is night & day in resin production and thus potency... Example: 1) [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] 2) [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] I've come across reports/claims in literature that the cannabis of several decades ago on the black market was likely to test in the 7-10% range for potency... Today's most potent strains test in the 25-30% range with a few strains reported/claimed to exceed 30% (but not by much)... |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75993659 You only develop receptors for compounds if your ancestors have been exposing themselves to those compounds regularly for hundred of thousands of years. Possibly even millions of years. You don't "develop"/evolve receptors over hundreds of thousands or possibly even millions of years... or 6000 years either. People would not have used marijuana for however long if there were no receptors and it was of no effect. |
