I put on a nice dress and drove around, not sure where I’d end up. Pretty soon I saw an outdoor ceremony so I pulled in. It was already in progress. I rolled my window down and asked the guy in the parking lot if ir was too late to attend. He said “It’s never too late” Got there just in tome for the end! But it was great. Super clear day, blue cloudless skies and a very white hot sun down here in New Mexico. Happy Easter |

Organized religions are finished as they are. The future will be a Church without walls, and no Treasury. It will be sort of like any 12 step program only interested in helping people not themselves. . |

Have sung professionally (paid) for many different faiths over the years. Didn't matter which one, they were all comforting, yet I could never invest myself fully. Still, Physical Attendance is becoming more and more necessary if you're a Christian. I only went because I was paid, but that is no longer. The last one, a new agey church run by... well... it didn't ring true and got down to eight people attendance on average. They fired the preacher, kept the musician (me), then cut those Sundays in half. I was so bored and stressed over the two weekends I wasn't there where they still needed my assistance (programs, I made programs, too), that I just quit. I've been sorry for that decision, oh, well. It was so quiet, boring, stressful and meaningless at that point. Quoting: TXGLP2 So I'm going back to a big church and sing in the choir, keep the voice worked out. Just gotta pick something out. Was raised Baptist and don't mind sliding one way or the other - Methodist, Presbyterian, whatever, we must now GO TO CHURCH since Christianity is literally, under fire. too late, you sold your soul for that almighty monopoly money... those 8 people you abandoned so ruthlessly when they needed YOU the most (preacher gone) you quit to further your ego at a bigger church, lemme guess, it paid better?? You could have stayed and made that church an even bigger church with 8 people who obviously ride or die... im apalled at the self righteousness you are feeling and i tend to consider myself more agnostic but for something like this... may God have mercy on your soul... even if its the same mercy you showed those 8 poor souls who now feel like the lord abandoned them completely... how long ago was this? vegas shooter comes to mind for someone who might feel the same exact way. |

tiger1 User ID: 76712081 United States 04/22/2019 01:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Went to Church this morning to celebrate Palm Sunday. I'm Orthodox. Pascha is next Sunday for us. I might have to look at Orthodox. Which one? There's more than one, you know. There are a lot of choices in the Orthodox Faith.I belong to a Ukrainian Orthodox, which is close to my home. I chose this particular church because a lot of the people and the pastor used to come to my former church, a Byzantine Catholic Church, when we had various festivities, luncheons, etc.The people in my church were very welcoming to me, even though I am quirky. I have attended the Greek Orthodox a few times, when my pastor was out of town, or too sick to do Liturgy and we had no sub. Some of them come off as very clannish, but since I can pass for Greek, I was accepted and asked to join, but declined. For those of you who don't know, Byzantine Catholic Liturgy is identical to Orthodox, except that the Orthodox are not under that pos in Rome. The Catholic Church considers Orthodox as a "Sister" church, and Catholics can go to an Orthodox Church for Liturgy/Mass to fulfill their sunday obligation if they cannot go to a Catholic Church for whatever reason. The Catholic Church recognizes the Orthodox Communion as valid, and the Orthodox priests as valid. OTOH,the Orthodox do not get along with Rome in any way, but Byzantine Catholics seem to have no problem just "sliding" into Orthodox. It is a weird situation. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |
