This country used to have something called OSHA, I think it stood for organized safety and health act? There were very strict rules on businesses to keep employees and the public safe. There seems to be a dramatic uptick in accidents and decided to investigate.

Large companies that have government contracts and perhaps others are being given “special” consideration and treatment by the government. What this means I don’t know but I doubt the rules are stricter!

I hate to think innocent people are being killed needlessly because of political games, monetary considerations or neglect, but somethings cookin!

"Seattle Times" is reporting the building is a new JGoogle building under construction?

There is chatter on the internet that the crane was being DISMANTLED when it fell.

It probably squished libs.

So i doubt it.

Funny how one piece of the crane jib is just laying in the street by its self.The pins holding the jib components should not separate rather parts of the jib are torn off .It may have been in the decommissioning stage where they dismantle the crane.

Sounds like a lot of wasted taxpayer money going to investigators now, because of a flawed private-company design, that was never meant for strong gusts of winds.

Will the taxpayers pay for the investigators, or will the company using it? Or the company building the crane?

I know that park should not have been open to the public, but of course that's more money for the government if they keep it open, more money for investigations, more excuses of "climate change" believers to try to use this as fuel for their "humans are wrecking the planet, CO2 is bad" talking points.

A heavy wind did the dismantling,

Four people were dead by the time firefighters got to the scene, according to Fire Chief Harold Scoggins. He said two of those casualties were crane operators and the other two were people who had been in cars.

Several witnesses and the National Weather Service reported a storm squall with powerful gusting winds moved through the area at the time the crane was being dismantled, then toppled.

“It was terrifying,” said Esther Nelson, a biotech research assistant who was working in a building nearby and saw the crane fall from a break-room window.

“I looked up. The wind was blowing really strong,” she recalled. She saw boats struggling on Lake Union. Then the crane — she estimated it was maybe eight or nine stories high — broke in half.
