We are, one of our kids has to work, and ones in college far away and it doesn’t make sense to travel here and turn right around and go back. My wife’s family are a bunch of assholes and all hate each other, I’m the black sheep of my family for some reason... fuck’em all. I miss the way thanksgiving and Christmas used to be when I was younger. Now these days are just another day.

hi I'm fine though. I am just glad I'm not working today, like was always the case in years past.

Yeah, working on holidays is the worst. I recall those younger years when I was working retail. Pain in the butt.

I´m sorry to hear that, loneliest. My Mom & Dad don´t "do" the holidays anymore. Too stressful for them. None of my siblings live in my town. My hubbys family lives in this town, but they´re all assholes, lol!

So this will be our third annual Thanksgiving camping trip. We take a ham, the weather is always cool. It´s wonderful. We appreciate what we´re really thankful for. Wish you could come with us.

Three grown kids, living 100´s of miles away, been trying to make friends and cultivate relationships for years, but I have no one to spend the holidays with. Not even going to try this year. Not celebrating anything, probably going to unplug the phone.

Do you go to church? I never did until recently and found a wonderful community that has been so supportive. We have regular potlucks and it has become such a joy in our week.

I'm sorry to hear you feel so lonely.

Lots of people are with family and are still lonely.

Remember, you can be alone, but not lonely.

Peace and love.

Being alone even though people is around is freedom. Fake holiday anyway. 1769 and the massacre of people so you can stuff your face and put Indians in salve camps and take their land, white people are evil and I'm one of them which is sad to say.

As the turkey cooks Wampanoags is in my heart with millions of other forgotten Indian souls of America.

Here's another angle, take inspiration in it. I plan on blogging about this over the weekend and another point of the holiday season. I will be writing a book about this and have an inspiration angle in it, too. I can't disclose too much because it is still in the brainstorming process.

Re: Who else will sit alone in an empty house this Thanksgiving?
Well i have the virus... going on day 18. So my good friend invited me for dinner, has almost every year since he got married. I had to say no even though he didn't care. They aready had it, but her parents will be there, they're vaxxed but still no way i'd go. Rest of my family is in FL. where i could go get free monoclonal antibody treatments, which work. So i'm stuck here at home waiting for my temp to fully come down. It's up n down but barely one degree high, been like this for weeks. Very tired at times but other than scratchy throat and stuffy head not much else. Temp is just barely a degree high at times but has been up n down for weeks. Can't smell much but taste returned some. Sucks because i have sinus issues and i can't smell mildew and such, which i'm allergic too. Had a test a week so far though.

Prednisone is over, haven't tried to get more, that really helped but not sure if i want to keep taking that stuff. Where i live it's hard to get real anti viral treatment unless you go to the hospital and are admitted... It's a joke the level of competence fighting this thing here, Biden's state...Anyway getting ready to take my senior pup for a ride and see if any drive thru's are open. Try and get tested again tomorrow, Got some quecitin, nac and tumeric yesterday in the mail. Taking zinc, lysine, C, D,nattokinase, and some other stuff.

Sorry for the ramble, sorry to vent... I need to get over this and get back to my grind and make some money...

Well to the other single folks, hope it's a good day. Hope you're well and hope you have a fur buddy to love...Find something to do, something you enjoy and do it. Helping others is a great way to spend some free time.

This too shall pass, i hope...Take care OP.

You're not alone.
Well you are in the sense that you'll be alone, but you're not the only person who'll be alone today.

I don't celebrate any of these holidays because of their origins.

I could, I just choose not to.

I mean, even if there was a group of Indians and pilgrims who got together and shared some maze and a turkey, the Indians were still wiped out by the pilgrims in the end.

I'm not going to celebrate that.

Far as Christmas goes, it's a pretty easy google search on the evils of that day.

I get it though, friends and family blah, blah, blah...
Whatever.
It's the same thing year after year.
Bunch of people getting together, pretending to be happy about it.

Lol
No thanks.

I was sick with something a couple of days ago. Cough, ear ache that wouldn't go away, and the beginnings of a fever. Took some IVM, and 25,000 IU of vitamin D3, and the fever left me within an hour or two. Don't know what I had, but it didn't want to stick around. But having whatever it was has caused me to re-think sitting indoors eating with an extended family, as for all intents and purposes none of them looked to be sick. They were all vaccinated, though.
