My sister lives in Orange County, CA, where I also used to live. Yesterday she went to get her driver's license at the local DMV. For years we have seen lines wrapped around the side of the building consisting of about 90% Mexican/Guatemalans. YESTERDAY SHE CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THERE WAS NO LINE. She said there were maybe 10-15 in line inside, and that all the people being assisted were about 90% white or Asian, which is much closer to the demographics of the area.

Is this the 2000 that had court hearings already and were ordered deported - or is this another grouping of ICE raids?

At first I was wondering why Trump himself was "leaking" that the raids were going to happen a couple weeks ago... why would you give them a heads up?

No, there is an actual farm migrant status and you have papers for it. They do 3-6 months around the farms of California, southwest and pacific northwest then go home. They do it every year, those are the ones we need. They like to come back and forth, they have no desire to leave Mexico permanantly.

Years ago in the San Diego area you didn't even need papers to go back and forth, they had busses or you just walked through. Many many people still cross daily for work or school but it's a lot harder now. The traffic alone is to stressfull.
