Utah woman bled to death into a garbage can during botched heart surgery, lawsuit says

Reason #472 to never go to a hospital or trust a doctor.

I saw open heart surgery a long time ago, and when they opened up the chest, they had to ice it down, and they picked up something that looked a lot like a small trash can, which is filled with ice, and sort of just tossed the ice in.

It's probably changed a lot, that was like three decades ago?

It's just a botched surgery.

Unfortunate, and probably negligent, but I doubt letting blood drain onto the floor instead would have saved her.

the point remains GROSS NEGLIGENCE from whomever was in charge OF the bypass pump,the gas passer/anesthesiologist,attending surgeon,circulating nurse on down who are educated,trained etc.

hope they all get screwed as individuals and lose their licenses as they are a threat to the general well being of the public.

a life was wasted due to them not checking and observing a very simple matter during cutting off the "pump".

still depends upon what procedure is getting done and if involving the bypass pump you would see them getting that circulation set up--fascinating and in MOST CASES well observed by the one in charge of the pump w/their check list and clip board even though they've done it a hundred times.

My daughter would have died without open heart surgery 3 years ago, but I made sure she had it at Cleveland Clinic.

Our town is FULL of foreign doctors. Hardly an American in the bunch. And mostly Muslim. Their holy book tells them to kill us all and take over...and now they are delivering our health care???
What kind of medical training do these doctors have?
Why are they all here now instead of saving lives in their own country??????

There are plenty of domestic doctors that really fuck up too.

I witnessed several surgeries when I was a student nurse. The number of checks and safety precautions were many, and overlapped in some cases. How this could have happened is beyond me.

Foreign trained Doctors with Fucking H1-B visas. How many Doctors are doing practices with out being properly trained. Many of them get their training in the Caribbean Islands and come to the US to practice. Just like pharmaceuticals, where just about any country can produce pills on the cheap.China is the leader in that.
