Bud Fox User ID: 18243632 United States 08/23/2019 09:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That seems like an odd escort. The A-10 has limited air-to-air capabilities, but is of course one of the premiere close air support aircraft of all time. Seems like they were more concerned with threats from the ground, like someone with a a surface to air missile. Edit: Just had a thought, maybe the A-10 was going side to side to mask the heat signature (or radar) of the jet? Then if a missile was fired, it would track the A-10 instead, which could deploy counter measures and try to evade? Last Edited by Bud Fox on 08/23/2019 09:33 PM Blue Horseshoe loves GLP |

Enjoying afternoon. Loud as hell like a bunch of antique biplanes or something. NOPE Below 5000ft. Matte Green A-10 Warthog flying right behind. Like escort close. Wavering from left side to right side of a private jet. Not commercial. I have never seen an escort of this strength, ever. And I’ve lived by many a military base. Headed SE of Hwy 22. Just gotta put the feelers out of any others have seen this behavior. AF uses that type of jet for special missions |

Just a bit larger. 20-30passenger. The A-10 was literally 20 meters off its ass. Never seen anything like it. Just like a movie. A-10 was so loud. Like the Harley of the sky. No matter the leak, truth, disclosure, breaking. When nature runs its course. Your always dead. So die righteously |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72623442 United States 08/24/2019 01:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A-10s don't escort because they aren't designed for that. The simple answer is they were both military and going to the same destination so they went together. The plane that appeared private probably had military brass on it.If they feared something they would have had an F class fighter or two with them. |

I'm in LC too, would love to see you pics. Really have noticed an uptake in military air traffic around here the past year. Since there are no commercial air lanes around here it pretty obvious when these missions pass by overhead. I heard the racket but didn't go outside to check it out, it's getting so frequent these days... |

Then if a missile was fired, it would track the A-10 instead, which could deploy counter measures and try to evade? If a call goes out for need of an escort, the A-10 may have been the closest aircraft that was capable. Could have also been a plane heading to the base and reported problems and asked to have another pilot to a visual inspection...this would explain going back and forth behind the plane...looking at the tail section, elevator perhaps. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; as I am the baddest one in the valley. American by Birth, Texan by the Grace of God! Real TeamReaper, New Account |
