Nope, i looked at their childlike cartoon graphics at their space centre looked like the angle of approach was way too steep, way off their target path and then no atmosphere so descent would be rapid without reverse thrusters firing on time.
And guess those descent thrusters were too slow to start or failed and then boom too late a small burnt out smear on the moon.

I would have thought they would have gone to nasa russia china for tech support to prevent such a basic fuckup.

oh i forgot to add an amazing achievement for india getting so close, learn from their mistakes and doit again.

To have the reporter claim that the Vikram lander is still in orbit is absolutely ridiculous. They crashed the junk into the lunar surface while their so called monitoring was telling them they had 2.1 km left.
The whole project is silly when the money is so desperately needed for things like fresh water infrastructure in India.
