Ne texas,steady stream of them almost all year.even in this drought and heat wave.kinda surprised me too.they were late due to heavy rains in the spring though.

Huge increase in Mexico in January and they migrate, so basically all of North America +++Monarchs for 2019.

Saw shitloads a few weeks ago when I was in central Indiana. They were all over the creek and surrounding area I was at.

I don’t know what the bugpocalypse crowd is talking about. We have had tons of fireflies, honeybees all over the clovers on my lawn, crickets all around my house that never shut up, and cicadas all over the place.

Oh, and mosquitoes. Still got those, too.

I have never seen a monarch butterfly that I remember anyway. Maybe they were around when I was a kid, I don't remember, but certainly in the last forty years I haven't seen one in the PNW.

But lo and behold, I'm pretty sure I saw one sitting in the lawn the other day! We have butterfly bushes growing like weeds but I've never seen a monarch around until a week ago.

lucky you :) the monarch population, introduced here in the 1890s has collapsed, i haven't seen a monarch here in years, they have been replaced by the australian northern brown, which carries a lot of disease, too many muppets trying to farm them have basically wiped them out through their negligence here, sad.

Here outside of Detroit also and I've noticed them flying all over the places, on the main roads.

That's why I said something to my wife after I seen a few different ones flying in a short timeframe.

My father passed recently and the next day i saw the biggest swarm of dragon flies i've ever seen.

They say save the Milkweed that is there pollination plant and there all being destroyed by farmers and people that dont like weeds.

Yes in fact. Today I watched one slowly drift out of the sky onto a shrub.
I could not tell you the last time I saw one.
