If the US Army is "fighting ISIS" why did they protect them from the Kurds, Turks, Syrians and Russians? | |

Anyone else remember when we were supposed to be fighting the Syrian Army to oust Al-Assad? Remember when McCain said "They are our friends," when photographed with supposed armed Al Queda members inside Syria? Then, we were fighting against the Russians who reportedly came to the aid of Assad. Then, the Russians were "helping" us fight against Al Queda/ISIS/the boogieman...whatever. Now, we are leaving with a few remaining to supposedly guard the oil fields. If anyone else can understand any of it and offer up an explanation, I'm all ears. |

You know what I don't understand? I just heard on CSPAN someone say "What is our plan to capture and monitor ISIS fighters?". Why are we capturing and monitoring ISIS fighters? Can you imagine how much US taxpayers money is being paid to feed and house these ingrates? It's like thousands of them. Can you imagine if we had that policy in Vietnam or WWII? You know what you do with people who meet you on the battlefield for combat? I do, and it's not "capture and monitor" them. These people think it is their religious duty to see to the destruction of intelligent civilization. They are brainwashed beyond any rehab. I say we revert to the original SOP of how to deal with enemy combatants. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77713188 Anyone who isn't on board with their religion is to be persecuted or killed. It's in their "holy" text. Trying to make friends with them is social and cultural suicide. The issue you're referring to has to do with money. They are well funded, and politicians like money. Luckily they aren't very smart, and their combat skills are sub-par for a 6 year old paintballer. All the back and forth about whos fighting who is all about money. Mostly having to do with the suppliers that provide the weapons and ammo. |

I hope some campaigning politicians call out that question. I know I will any chance I get. "Why are we spending taxpayers dollars subsidizing the livelyhood of people who have sworn to their "god" to see to the destruction of intelligent civilization? ie equal rights, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, etc? Why? If we ever let them go they'll just keep trying to kill us. So why are we paying to perpetuate their existence?" Something like that. I might even go search out some politicians to put them on the spot. It's not the way to go. |
