The crust doesn't slide over the mantle. That's simplified elementary school science.

The Earth is solid Rock all the way to the core. The deeper you go, the more compressed it is. The mantle shifts extremely slowly. It's not fast like the ocean.

There isn't a hard line between the layers such as the crust and mantle, the change in state is gradual. The Earth is not an egg.

Since electrical energy requires magnetism, and certain elements react to the forces of magnetism, the potential for moving mass is very possible.
Even gravity can be effected to a measurable degree.

I don't believe the crust moves. I think it's possible the rotation axis does over long periods of time which would have the same effect. Wobbly top that starts spinning on it's side, so to speak.

Right here--I'm one of those others. I've noticed sign after sign pointing towards a pole shift for the last decade, and have chosen to pay attention. I'm hesitant to say it, but this looks like an official announcement from a federal organization that the poles are indeed shifting! Yeah, that's pretty significant. Maybe this really is happening. Only time will tell for sure. Thanks for the info! I'll give you some back.

The Earth changes it's rotation only by a few degrees, back and forth, every 40,000 or so years IIRC. Also, the idea of tectonic plates moving around with the regularity of 400,000 to 700,000 years to keep up with the magnetic shifts is not accurate at all--to put it mildly.

A rapid pole shift of 90 or 180 degrees degrees will be a mother fucker for sure, but more for our electronics/satellites. There is a very slim possibility, but there, that cosmic radiation will increase to a damaging point during a rapid shift. Either way, no big deal for anyone living outside of large metro areas with access to water and food for a while--under the worst scenario.

Wonderful news. If the Earth flips 90 degrees, then the USA becomes a tropical paradise. It will get very warm though. Better that than becoming the new North or South Pole...
