There are many aspects to the vulnerabilities incurred when the shields are down..captn. Some good, some not so good and some earth shattering. Given that we are only 93M miles away and entering an unprecedented solar cycle, CMEs and GRB offer different opportunities to us terrestrial fleas. Cosmic rads are to be avoided, UVC and gamma rays are known DNA triggers. There are other energies not spoken of here that are the good witches of the east. We entered the Cycle 24 sunspot minimum period in 2016 because in February and June, we already had two spot-free days. As the number of spot-free days continued to increase in 2017-2018, we will start seeing the new sunspots of Cycle 25 appear sometime in late-2019 early 2020. Sunspot maximum is likely to occur in 2024, about the same time out Magnetosphere is hyper weakened. Thoughts? Oh, and I have tears streaming down my face as I am writing this. .
