The buildup continues.

Sometimes your own strength is your weakness.

Strength: Having bases all across the middle east

Weakness: Having to defend all your bases across the middle east

Iran can strike bases in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria without too much effort since forces are already near those. Israel can be hit any time by Hezbollah. 4 front war right off the bat.

The successful drone attack on Saudi oil facility that penetrated all US air defenses in the area is a quite troubling issue also. Air defense against Iran not as good as US thought it was.

Time will tell perhaps.

For what it's worth, I have been for getting out of Afghanistan and I was against going into Iraq and Syria since 2003.
