Each State has its own State Sovereignty, its own State Constitution and no other State can take it from it, or strip it from it.
The Union of the States on a National Level has a National Constituion as well on a Federal Level Nationwide.

If New York casts its own State Sovereignty off or punts it to another power outside our Nation and its own State, then it is run by insanely corrupt thieving politcal persons.
This is a State of the citizens of it and the political persons work for the people there and their State.

So if such happens they may just find their selves catapulted out of our Nation and barred from ever coming back.
Or imprisoned or worse.
