You are stumbling over your own nonsense again.

The cases diagnosed within 24 hours, which is what you were originally referring to (the real daily number), is not amended at a later date because by very definition any future cases would have been diagnosed later than 24 hours. Therefore any cases diagnosed after that date are put down as diagnosed within 14 days. The daily new case number is taken from any new cases diagnosed within 14 days. It's all there on Spain's health website which I linked above. Therefore today's number of new reported cases is indeed 8866 as antivirus poster pointed out.

Even if you want to use the cases diagnosed within 24 hours number only, I'm pretty sure 4,400 is a new record high for the current second wave.

It’s all in how it is compared and contrasted.
What matters is how you interpret the data and the decisions you make.
At the end of day we each have to weigh the risks.

When someone uses the term "Face Diaper" I kinda write them off just like they do when I see someone with a cracked cell phone screen.

As a general addendum; when looking at EU data keep the 1st of July in mind, it's roughly when the majority of countries loosened restrictions on travel and businesses. The types of people that go on holiday during a pandemic right after restrictions are lifted aren't the one's that make the best life choices.

What the hell is up with prisons? It seemed for a while every week there was a report of a 50-70% infection rate at this prison or that, now nothing for quite a while.

That's where they should really be doing the re-infection case studies. Healthcare workers have PPE, prisoners even if they do surely aren't using it properly... plus there's all the rape and whatnot.

The last vaccine I had was the Chicken Pox vaccine, in 2004. I had no immunity to the virus, and was working with children and elders, so thought it a good idea to be vaccinated. Well.... that didn't work out well at all. I only got the first of two shots, and I got very, very sick from the vaccine .... a huge weeping sore that lasted months, pox all over one side of my body, and a bad bout of fevers. I have since had several shingles outbreaks, and I have permanent nerve pain where the worst of the rash was.

Bear in mind, I have a weird immune system -- and I'm now under doctor's orders not to be vaccinated again.

In the 1970s I was in the US Army. Had a job as the Admin of a large medical clinic.

I loved travel to exotic places. Soon, I learned that I could order ANY vaccine and get it for myself.

I remember getting vaccines for Yellow Fever and several others. My philosophy was that I wanted to be immune to as much as possible.

I had a bomb-proof immune system at that time. When I got the flu, I simply went to bed and it was gone in hours.

I ended up traveling to North Africa, Eastern Europe, and a few other places. Made the mistake in Morocco of eating a salad at a fancy hotel before returning to Germany. Six weeks of dysentery.

Now, I am not so bomb-proof. Ergo, I have been in self-quarantine since Feb.
