Why is the media saying everything is ok? They could have max ratings if they just told everyone the doom. They dont do it. That is telling.

The idea is that the virus is real, but it's not as harmful as the crisis actors are making out. The economy was harmed, but the markets were shut when the virus really hit the news, which was remarkably fortuitous. The people being forced into vans by guys in hazmats, are very likely anti-communist enemies of the state. But when we see it, we say "oh, the coronavirus".

The media does this for every viral outbreak, and this one is no different. They always talk about how the virus has a 1% kill rate, and tell us not to worry, every single time.

It's done because whether this is serious or not, us panicking will cause some serious problems. There is probably an agreement between media companies and government, acting on advice of places like the CDC and WHO, to avoid sensationalizing stories like this, to avoid runs on the bank/food stores and other kinds of chaos.

The one report I saw early on in the outbreak showed that EVERYONE who came down with the virus ended up with pneumonia. If that holds true, I think it's going to be a bit difficult to successfully treat pneumonia patients at home.

Why are they playing this down in the news? The conspiracy side of me says it's so those in the know can scarf up all of the supplies (gloves, masks, etc.) needed BEFORE everyone else catches on.
