The problem isn't with the food. It's the fact that the owners/employees are very often native Chinese, who may or may not have gone home to China for the holidays.

Given the long incubation period of the virus, it's only natural to avoid these places until this burns itself out.

People are scared. It sucks for Chinese but might be the smartest thing for a lot of people. Would you rather be just a little racist anonymously by not eating Chinese or catch the disease. Chinese are in a much close proximity to the virus even if they live in the states. The tend to have lots of Chinese friends and family members. Chinese are more likely to go to China
