You would also have to stop bitching about immigrants and migration. Last I checked lazy fucks want nothing to do with working on an assembly for minimum wage.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69577792

And you should stop thinking a lot of Limousine Liberalism and Champagne Socialism - as practiced by the George Soros to the Jeff Bezos, by the Mark Zuckerbergs to the Michael Bloombergs of America - doesn't have a lot of consequences.

With so much "We are the World" liberalism/leftism/progressivism in vogue over the past several decades, what could possibly go wrong?

Has nothing to do with "Limousine Liberalism and Champagne Socialism"

Fucking thousands of homeless people and with children won't even pick their lazy off the sidewalk to bus tables and you think they will sit on an assembly line.

Good luck with that...

Why bother when 3/4 of their paycheck go to housing?
They are richer being homeless, they only need to dumpster dive for food and they are set for the day.

Pay people enough to live and they may give a fuck.

If all the work is going to make others richer while they have nothing to show for it, they will say fuck it.

The impact of China’s manufacturing shutdown is beginning to spread.

“ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A local manufacturer could be closing up shop because of the deadly coronavirus outbreak and it could impact dozens of local workers.

Danfoss Turbocor Processors may be forced to temporarily shut down production because it is running out of parts from China.”

Where I work expected ship times for fiber optic cables are already in the middle of March. Hope everyone is ready.

Get on youtube, learn how to make fiber optics. Heck w China. I warned everyone this is their was of a) blaming the US on a Asian male bio-attack and b) cutting off all exports.

People need to such it up and make their own stuff.

Re: US Manufacturing Plant Supply Chain Issues - Coronavirus
We're already running out of manufacturing supplies, and we [you] need to be sure you can also meet medical supply needs you and your loved ones need so we can go back to manufacturing domestically.

Millenials that are helpless... well I'll be honest, they will need help and if they are useless then f*ck 'em. We here already have the knowledge and means to survive--we have it in each other.

America and Americans can and will survive, but we can better do so if we are proactive rather than reactionary, and plan ahead while there is still time. I encourage all here to learn where any needed medications and supplies are sourced from and adjust as necessary sooner vs. later and reach out to any provider of life-necessities you or your loved ones may require.

GLP is more than conspiracy or politics. Some days it is about providing information and help to each other, something that no where else does or can do as does GLP.

GLP and the information always here first has provided the motivation for me to have my prescriptions changed to items only sourced from the U.S. This has required I check with my Healthcare provider Anthem for every prescription that I needed switched to a U.S. manufactured brand to insure they will cover that medication.

Minutes ago I received an email asking 'how they did' during my call today. My reply to them included the following which i copied to their vice president:

"With the Covid-19 virus having now stopped exports from China to the U.S. and the potential that exports from India may soon stop, we are faced with the very real possibility that soon only medications and supplies manufactured in the U.S. may be available.

I strongly encourage Anthem to evaluate where all plan-covered medications and supplies are sourced from. In my case, my insulin is manufactured in the U.S., but the required needles for injection come from Japan. Should we have a cessation of imports from the far East, then my insulin is useless without the requisite supplies (needles) to administer it.

One example of a now cut-off medication source are those many pharmaceuticals made by Novartis as they are manufactured in the now locked down city of Beijing.

While we are only beginning to see the effects of this today, in another month it will become obvious and life-threatening to many in the U.S. when medications and supplies cannot be had. There exist finite weeks or months of stocks for many items utilized here and it is my hope that Anthem will adjust their formularies to allow for continued supply of needed medications for the many that require them to maintain health and life."

So I may have awakened one individual in healthcare, scared him to death, or made no difference.

I am however, making the effort.

The real impact won't show until next year, after Christmas fails.

It will also take months for Coronavirus to impact all the countries it's infecting now, plus we have the good weather coming up, putting more people outside.

The real doom will start showing in 2021.

The Coronavirus probably started in September 2019, and took a few months before the death rates in China looked unusual enough to test the people dying of pneumonia.

I'm guessing we're about 5 months into this epidemic, and next flu season is when things will get really bad.

Eat healthy, reduce your stress, take lots of vitamin C, and get plenty of sleep.

i have to laugh at this 1. do u seriously think AMERICAN workers care enough to make a quality anything? we haven't produced 1 car in over a deacde that is not on a recall list. they are all junk. and those are the higher paid workers.

with the invent of minimum wage and increases thru the years, the qualtiy has dropped in this country. why should workers care WTF happens to the company? a job flipping burgers pays almost as well. the worker, who put time in and did try to care. gets screwed every Freaking time they raise minimum wage. the cost of living goes up. in total the worker with seniority takes about a dollar per hour pay cut every time.

while u all r watching China and thinking of the knick nacks from Walmart or the Dollartree, u better watch the right hand as well.

CA produces the food, veggy's and fruit, for the US. where is the virus likely to hit and lock down 1st? yep, CA. now where is our food going to come from????

better yet would u really want to use toilet paper that might have been sneezed on in China? or eat a tomato or can of fruit that a Mexican with his habits and sneezing helped pick?

society needs to rethink many things.

The machines are just platforms, for stamping, folding, cutting, etc. the knowledge to run, maintain and create the dyes, that knowledge left the job market 25 years ago. Its not just about opening factories. If it was that simple anyone would just open factories. You need knowledgeable people from the top down. We are now going to have live the downside of the magical' service based economy solution'. Everyone cheered as long their 401k went up. They forgot you were guaranteed a 3rd world country. You guys think this will just be about not being able to order shit.. This will impact our jobs too when our companies rely on chemicals and other parts that make whats left of out industry run starts to see issues. My wife is a production planner at a local industry mill and she is noticing it already when she can't order stupid little things like helmets, gloves or certain oils that machines need or stupid little parts for them. Our entire industry relies on asia..

So what happens to the white collar workers when the blue collar guys are sitting at home because they can't make the product they sell? The white collars get laid off too..
