I filed through their website because local offices are closed to the public and in their pages of text, yes you will be asked to provide proof of applying. I havent been asked yet but I also havent received a check. I just got notice today by email that is what my benefit amount will be.

When I was making $130K/yr and lost my job, the unemployment $ per month in TN was $1000. That's the max. I mean, ridiculous. In IL, the max was $2400/mo. I imagine you still have to show proof of applications, but everyone just lies about that and we know civil servants are too lazy to check on any of it.

Grocery stores should be hiring.
