Its not illegal to evict a tenant in a residential property, its not a commercial property with different laws. PAY YOUR RENT OR YOU"RE OUT ON THE STREET. Lazy bums want a free handout and holiday at the expense of others. Trying to save their free money to buy another TV and plan a holiday, IS NOT WHAT ITS FOR! THAT MONEY IS FOR YOUR RENT AND BILLS, Pay them or join the BUMS on the street If you have the money from unemployment and government benifits yes you shouldn't buy a new tv or go on vacation with that money it is for bills/rent.but if you dont get those benifits and are stuck without work or benifits or get sick with covid-19 what do u do then? You must work for the bankers keep thier pockets full. Do u understand we are in a national emergency |

I can guarantee you that most of these so-called no-eviction policies -- and they are just policies -- will not stand the test of the courts and emergency injunctions to stop extra judicial non-enforcement by law enforcement to execute writs off possession after a an eviction judgment is obtained. And politicians should get solid direction from their general counsels before blabbing such things in front of the media to score points with the voters for their future campaigns. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77901662 Trial courts have no authority to ignore or change the law. Only state legislatures could do that. And even they will have a hard time throwing out contract and common law in one area as it applies to residential leases without upsetting the whole body of contract law and jurisprudence. Furthermore, a local sheriff or police agency tasked with executing writs of possession cannot just refuse to carry out their sworn constitutional duties without repercussions. And, I guarantee you it will get challenged immediately by very active landlords in the various state appellate and supreme courts as emergency actions demanding immediate hearing and rulings. Keep in mind that many of these head law enforcement officers are de-facto politicians making big statements without the legal standing to make them. Just because they say it doesn't mean it's so. Unfortunately, the sheeple will cherry pick the information that best suits them and I fear that many will stop paying legally obligated rent because they heard someone on the news say that they can just top paying rent. If that happens there will be hell to pay in unintended consequences. Uhh, the courthouses are closed. |

I lost my job. No savings. So, they won't get it from me, because I will become homeless soon. And that's the straight truth I don't know where you live, but find out whether there are any rental assistance programs to prevent homelessness there.
