Quoting: Wharf Rat <50 % New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and St. Louis are among many cities that have temporarily banned evictions, but advocates for the strike are demanding that rent payments be waived, not delayed, for those in need during the crisis. The rent strike idea has taken root in parts of North America and as far away as London. White sheets are being hung in apartment windows to show solidarity with the movement that is gaining steam on Twitter, Instagram and other social media sites [link to apnews.com (secure)] This is one movement I can DEFINITELY get behind, wow... Wharf Rat (OP) User ID: 77537178 United States 03/30/2020 08:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's true, how can you 'waive' 3 months and then expect it from people who couldn't pay then? Some are waiving fees and such, but there's no free ride. They will get their money, all of it. This is ugly shit. Well, they won't get their money from me. Because I don't have any more. I lost my job. No savings. So, they won't get it from me, because I will become homeless soon. And that's the straight truth ~Wharf Rat |

The owner has multiple complexes and HE still will owe on the mortgages even if tenants don't pay. One of his buildings mortage alone for one month is $18k!!! And these are not high status complexes, just average every day apartments and condos in Alaska It's a catch 22 |
