You have to understand the racial issues in LA at the time, though. It was HIGHLY segregated. Like, when my mom went to get her hair done at the Baldwin Hills mall, it was ALL black. Even the health food restaurant was all black. In the valley, the white teachers were really upset that they were trying to bus in black Americans from LA proper. One white teacher even tried to break my neck. I still have a big knot on the back of my neck from the ordeal.

Much different times back then in LA. We're talking 99 cent chinese food kind of LA! You really have to understand the context.

I grew up in LA myself, but the day of the riots I was in the process of moving out to Fontana. I knew Reginald Denny prior to his head getting caved in, the guy was a prick and probably deserved it. After getting his head caved in he was much nicer, lol

Yep, I think anyone who was there felt it. Was like war was about to break out at any moment. Very intense, I have been feeling similar feelings with this lockdown. Tensions are building and WILL break loose one way or another.

Song says April 26th (the start of the riots) but is called April 29th... never understood that. Was the 29th the worst day of the riots? Also, I fucking love sublime. Favorite band growing up.
