Anonymous Coward User ID: 76092888 United States 05/07/2020 11:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have mixed feelings on this. I think I will agree. The HB-1 work for no benefits or less money usually. If a spouse needs to work it should be no problem. You're looking at this through rose-tinted glasses. The H4EAD (the visa in question here) is used a backdoor into taking more jobs from qualified Americans. Similar to the H1B, the H4EAD is heavily abused by corporations to replace Americans with cheap foreign labor and continue a modern system of slavery. |

The HB-1 work for no benefits or less money usually. If a spouse needs to work it should be no problem. If the missus can get a job- probably unskilled labor at that, why not? Meanwhile, half the number of H1-B types taking skilled jobs Americans could be doing. This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but with a whimper. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78889181 In a submission before the U.S. District Court, District Washington this week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) argued that the American technology workers, who had challenged the 2015 ruling on giving work permits to H-4 visa-holders, have not been irreparably harmed by such work authorisation. Great so let them work under the table...oh wait they cannot do that because there is a paper trail in consulting. It's not like mostly cash based businesses (restaurants, shops, etc.) where the money can be easily hidden with a little work. The H1B is not an immigrant visa. Moreover, it's time to just end the visa all together and let Americans get into those positions. |
