Another category for exceptions includes activities such as voting or religious worship, though wearing a face mask for those is “strongly encouraged,” the governor’s office said."

Alabama has averaged about 15 deaths a day through the whole "epidemic" until yesterday when it shot up to 52. That may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

The order carries a penalty of $500 or jail time but Ivey said the focus will be on education as opposed to punishment.

“We are not asking sheriffs or police offers to seek out people not wearing a face mask. Our goal is to inform people,” the governor said.

There is a law in Alabama that prohibits people from wearing masks in public. However, the state’s attorney general said in April his office would not be enforcing that law during the pandemic.

Word got out around Birmingham over the week end that the country is about to be put under martial law and a lot of gun stores in the area were almost cleaned out of amo over the weekend. Even wallmart was almost out of BBs. Also a lot of food items being bought up, limits on many items. almost all stores out of home canning jars and lids went to 6 stores only found 2 boxes and no regular lids!! Many stores have many empty areas.

Alabama has one of the largest populations of the Tribe. Coincidence?
