What action does Ivermectin employ to treat COVID19?

Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine are zinc ionophores, a class of drug that carries the mineral zinc into the cell, without which free zinc would simply float around in the blood or be involved in other metabolic activities in the body.

Quercetin and EGCG (green tea extract) are also zinc ionophores. These over-the-counter supplements exhibit similar pharmacological activity as the anti-malaria chloroquine drugs, and are much more widely available.


Zinc Ionophores are carriers of zinc thru cells' membranes, depositing zinc ions into the cytoplasm. NIH says that zinc ionophores specifically affect malignant cancer cells. With respect to coronavirus (and many other human RNA viruses using the same mechanism), zinc ionophores inhibit viral replication by affecting RdRP, RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, an enzyme used by the virus not unlike a lockpick, to hijack the protein factory within cells--the "translation process" whereby normal operations of the cell convert rna into proteins. This is how viruses take over the cells' protein factories to make RNA copies of itself.


The zinc inhibits this RdRp enzyme, inhibiting the virus from copying itself. During this time the virus is inhibited from replication, the immune system can destroy the unmoored and inhibited virus copies floating around outside of the cell, as well as the infected cells.

Ivermectin works by opening a channel or gate (receptor) for ATP to move from inside living cells to outside living cells (from intracellular to the extracellular space).

Most viruses spread extracellularly, though herpes, paramyxoviruses and poxviruses may spread through intracellular and extracellular routes.


Ivermectin increases ATP (adeno triphosphate), the cellular energy currency, by 4.9-fold in the extracellular space. Zinc +ivermectin exhibits additive anti-viral effect, a 7.1-fold increase in ATP.


Ginseng surprisingly mimics ivermectin


Surprisingly, in the process of investigating ivermectin, an extract from Panax red ginseng is reported to be as effective as ivermectin at enhancing ATP, by two-fold in the P2X4 cell receptor. A similar effect has been observed in the P2X7 receptor (more about cell receptors below).

I can't back this up, but from the horrible taste of ivermectin, I would conclude that it definitely has quinine in it. It seems that everything that fights covid19 (and probabably any virus) has Quinine in it.

Ivermectin, seems viable treatment for 6 day cure and not expensive.
Why you want a 50-60 percent vaccine with a 99% recovery rate, that you might need to get repeatedly and no guarantee.......I am speechless.

Inhibits RNA type viruses on a blanket scale. I am not sure the exact mechanism but it is isolated from a bacteria in Japan a long time ago.

It is FDA approved for other things like scabies but not for this.

Considering the only side effects are from the die off of parasites, bacteria and viruses I would say it is worth a shot.
