The English, Scottish and Irish have a lot of Viking blood. The Welsh are more native. Some areas of Britain are very much Viking in their genes.

I'm sorry that I came accross as a bit rude last night. I't just bugs me when people make stuff like this claiming it is something it is not when it comes to my heritage.

Old Norse is very close to Icelandic. Of course it has changed over a millenia but it's still so similar that we can still read it.
All of our Saga's are written in the 12th century and we still as of today read them as part of studying Icelandic in school from 13-19 years of age.

I posted this one in particular because Odin's Raven Magic(Hrafnagaldr Óðins) is a poem written in the style of Poetic Edda which is collection of Old Norse anonymous poems found in a medieval Icelandic manuscript.

I think you are totally justified in your annoyance. I always liked the song. I didn't know it was so poorly translated. I'm just an American of Scandinavian descent, but I appreciate my heritage and people like you (one of the Norns, no less, LOL) who want it preserved and kept from adulteration. (Varangians) Where I have used the odd Norse word here and then, I truly hope I haven't butchered them!!
