the study indicates operator error with the injection. myocarditis was present only when the injection was screwed up and delivers intravenously (in a vein).

The hearts of mice which received intramuscular injections saw no such damage, leading the team to believe that accidental intravenous injections may cause the heart conditions.

Myocarditis is the inflammation of the myocardium, the muscular tissue of the heart. Simple enough.
Pericarditis is the inflammation of the pericardium, the fluid filled sack that protects and isolates the heart.

Both of them can be caused by an infection, usually a viral infection. HIV is one of those viruses. Its looking like just the HIV spike proteins is enough to cause an infection.
