World War 2 was a spiritual war as much as it was a physical war
I realized something...

In every war things happen to the vanquished. The vanqished nations' people are treated justly, generously, magnanimously, or are made to suffer and are oppressed. Society is changing, history has changed and goes in another direction.

With World War 2 it's no different but there is something I have been thinking about.

The outcome of WW 2 has changed the American people in a certain way which would have been different had the outcome of the war been different. This struck me particularly when I watched some old footage from after Japan's capitulation, and I watched a Japanese man (not a commoner, but someone with some status and an educated person) seated somewhere and an American entering the room, and it struck me how the American made his victor status clear to the Japanese, totally unlike how the victorious party behaved at the signing of the surrender by the Japanese on the ship.

The American, a big man like many Americans are (a John Wayne type) was striding into the room and gave a short despising look at the Japanese who was kind of cowering in this chair. The American's powerful aura was palpable.

Individuals are changed. Things like this affect even the folk spirit I'm pretty certain. There is something new in the awareness of a whole people, it changes their behavior, their outlook on themselves and on other people.

For better or for worse? That's the question.

Every conflict is spiritual in nature. It is the way….
From conflict in the universe (black holes, galaxies colliding, stars going super nova) to the conflict every human has going on within themselves, this reality is dualistic in nature and will constantly try to balance itself out.
Most of nature goes with the flow and deals with the ebbs and flows of the universe (Tao) but man has a unique part to play as we actually try to force the Tao to our will. This of course never works and just creates more conflict. But those that learn to go with the flow are rewarded with peace and a life in the middle way. And from there you can actually free yourself from the hold of the ego (matrix).
Religion is also a way humans try to control the spirit and their fellow man. And that is why most wars have a religious basis to them.
We will never not have conflict and peace as a society, just like we will never eradicate death and poverty and even Covid. You have to eventually realize that peace is a personal choice. You can make this choice in the best of times but unfortunately humans seem to need the worst of times to wake up.

It was a spiritual war, but it was not a simple case of good winning over evil.

It was a war that would determine which method evil would have to pursue.
