A couple of days ago, I was talking to my mom on the phone and asking about what time we were going to my aunt and uncle's for Thanksgiving. She said 3pm and then throws in I also think you should wear a mask because you're not vaccinated and you're putting your family at risk.

I got upset and said putting them at risk how? They got the vaccine, didn't they?

She then said, "Well, the vaccine doesn't prevent people from getting covid". I had to literally say, "stop and think about what you just said to me".

She stopped for a second and then said, "I have no idea what you're talking about, think about what"?

I said, "You want me to wear a mask, because I didn't get a vaccine that doesn't protect anyone against getting covid. You said I put them at risk, I asked how? Are you saying that if I got the vaccine, I would've got the magic vaccine that made me immune to COVID, so I could be the only one in the world with the vax that's immune and couldn't spread it to anyone else at Thanksgiving dinner"?

She then got a little flustered and said, "well then why the hell is everyone taking the vaccine if it doesn't protect anyone".

I said, "welcome to the world of using logic and common sense. That's exactly the question you should be asking".
