The lakes are literal mud holes, dirty brown water with visibility less than 2 feet. My question has always been, how does someone from California, no matter what you think is probably one of the most beautiful areas in America with their Ocean, mountains, crystal clear lakes, snow skiing, cooler climates,,,etc trade that for TEXAS? Wow your ignorance lack of sophistication really shows. Texas has all of that mountains, crystal clear lakes, beaches, deserts. Texas has it all. Just google for images retard. I live in Texas. The beaches all suck imo. There are some good lakes- used to be a lot- but corporate plants are polluting them at a faster rate now and they are being sucked dry so the people in expanding cities can water their lawns. There are the Davis mountains out by Marfa, near the border of Mexico, and Austin area used to be lovely and cool but now it is overcrowded times 10 and traffic is a nightmare. DFW area and Houston are nightmares period, and boring- and maybe the worst so called freeways in the US. |

San Antonio elected a libertarian Mayor. Got tha PoS Castro out. I'd say from my perspective it's at least half and half here. San Antonio is the best city in Texas IMO. **EDIT** Also, the Californians i've met thus far have all been conservative. Last Edited by GoliadFlag on 01/08/2022 06:58 PM Sic Semper Tyrannus! Make the state unbearable for certain individuals so that they leave and spread the cancer that is leftism?? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81793934 The Left games the Right out day after day and the conservatives just can't imagine other humans could ever think 24/7 evil thoughts that way. People who invoke "our democracy" really mean "their power." We are not now, nor have we ever been, a democracy. That's deliberate Communist word shifting. We are a constitutional republic. |

They are both sprawling, boring concrete jungles. Houston is hot and humid though, and there are some very bad neighborhoods in the city. The "diversity" here is not what I consider a good thing. That's a big part of why so much of the city looks trashy. I agree that the beaches aren't great. Galveston is disgusting. Corpus and South Padre are better but nothing like Florida's beaches. The mountains in West Texas and the canyons in the Panhandle of Texas are interesting parts of the state, as was Austin before it became like San Francisco (inexpensive hippie haven turned into a ridiculously overpriced techie haven). |
