Concorde planes don't have fuel tanks
What do you guys make of this?

Concorde’s fuel is stored in thirteen sealed tanks which are integral with the wing and fuselage structures. The fuel tanks are formed as sealed cells integral with the wing, centre fuselage and rear fuselage structure. To prevent fuel vapour entering the cabin, a vapour-seal membrane forms a double skin over the fuselage fuel tank cells. This area is pressurized and vented overboard.

Intermediate ribs and spars within the tanks reduce fuel surging and sloshing. As a result of modifications carried out between the years 2000 & 2001, tank numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8 are fitted with liners on the wing lower surface, which limit fuel leakage to a minimum in case of foreign object damage. The tanks also have structural expansion joints, located on the lower surface between the wing and fuselage, to allow for expansion and contraction of the aircraft structure caused by the thermal cycle induced by the supersonic/subsonic flight profile. The expansion joints are formed from two top hat sections which ramp down to a flat surface at either end where they attach to the spar cap flanges. The inner expansion joint forms part of the aircraft fuel tanks.

Re: Concorde planes don't have fuel tanks
Owen Benjamin had a tik tok about theres no way a normal jumbo jet could have the official quantity of fuel on board.

This concorde stuff makes it even more apparent!!!!
That thing couldn’t carry enough fuel for one hour of flight!!

Those look like really fast death traps. No thanks.

Almost every plane out there carries fuel in the wings…Concorde was just special because the internals of the wings themselves formed the self sealing tanks, instead of installing the tanks between the aluminum.

Concorde was magnificent.

I watched the video. Well the first part of it. I stopped when the guy said the wings were not even the thickness of the book. I didn't think it deserved any more of my time.

Re: Concorde planes don't have fuel tanks
I have watched a number of these videos and the bottom line is that I know nothing about jet aircraft and honestly have no idea.

--However--

There is this Aussie dude (bloke?) that talked about a similar thing. Joe Brooks of "Joe Cell" fame told a story about his uncle or grandfather who created a vehicle that had two pressurized air tanks, one feeding the air intake and one collecting (and compressing) the exhaust. He claimed that his grandfather (I forget the relation) would then "change the charge" on the exhaust tank, switch the exhaust to the intake and the now empty intake tank to the exhaust and the car would run on this air as fuel indefinitely. Or for a long time, or something like that.

It was this understanding that allowed Joe to create his "Level 3 Charged Water" that would automatically condition or charge the air coming into the intake such that the air itself would power the engine.

I don't know. I never had time to try to get a Joe Cell to work, so, who knows.

The story is similar though. That's all.
